Google proposed new shipping data schema. Google Search Console now uses dotted lines for partial data. Google is testing conversational search in the Google Search App. Google is testing dropping the results count in some cases, or is this a bug. Google selected canonical can show the wrong domain name sometimes. Google Ads continues to test mixing ads with free results. Google Ads optimization score now shows a competitive pressure data point. Google Ads added segmentation option to PMax asset groups. Google Shopping Ads has a bag button to bypass the product pages. Google Local Service Ads app will stop working in two months. Bing is rolling out new sponsored labels in search. Bing has these AI-powered buying guides. Updates to Google AI Overviews for shopping queries may impact eCommerce traffic as AIO expands and occupies more space
Google continues updating AIO rankings, increasing the presence of larger shopping-related panels and ads that push organic search results lower on the page. The good news for search marketers is that AIO volatility in shopping queries is stabilizing, with AIO rankings increasingly matching sites typically ranked in organic search.
Since November 1, 2023, BrightEdge has been tracking a consistent set of search queries representing billions of searches across nine industries. The key point is that they are tracking the same queries every month using their unique technology, the BrightEdge Generative Parser (TM). The BrightEdge Generative Parser detects and tracks AIO formats, analyzes AIO search results, and provides insights into daily trends.
BrightEdge noticed a trend beginning in September where AI Overviews increasingly showed links to websites that matched the organic search results. This means that traditional ranking factors that put a website in the top of the organic search results should pay off in citations in AIO.
The BrightEdge data showed an 8% improvement in day-to-day stability and a less than 1% fluctuation the pixel size of AIO Panels. That means that AIO search results were less volatile and more dependable. Volatility in shopping-related search queries decreased 37% (from early August) to 26% (as of late September). The lower volatility indicates that rankings should be more consistent, a trend that hopefully will carry over into the holiday shopping season that begins in November.
That stability was accompanied by a 15% reduction in keywords with an AIO, demonstrating an increase in how precise search queries are to web page topics and perhaps may reflect a greater use of natural language in queries.
Bright Edge noted:
“As ads deploy, Google is more precise about where AIOs are most helpful.”
That trend toward more precise and concise AIOs began in August and continued through September, by which time Google AIO was collapsing unordered lists by an additional 14.6% over the previous month. Collapsed unordered lists show a concise answer in the visible part and reveal additional information if users click to see more.  That trend continued in October, with the percentage of collapsed unordered growing by an additional 20%.
While that sounds like a lot, perhaps the most dramatic change was with the amount of times the AIO Product Carousel is triggered, experiencing a 300% increase since it initially was rolled out.
The trend of bigger AIO features suggests that shopping related AIO results with ads in them may increasingly displace organic content.
According to BrightEdge:
“As Google injects ads into AIOs in October, two features have experienced significant increases. Particularly with product carousels, there are direct opportunities for advertisers. As these are not taking up more space, it suggests those ads will likely displace an organic listing if this trend continues. All these trends point to a holiday shopping season where AI will play a bigger role than ever, but maybe not in the way we originally expected.”
E-commerce-related YouTube citations within AIO increased by 121% through September, which may reflect that users prefer to watch videos while researching products This calls attention to the importance of video influencers as well considering multimodal strategies that incorporate video content for shopping-related topics (where the intent makes sense).
AIO for shopping wasn’t all growth in September, as queries related to certain topics triggered less AI Overviews.

Another AIO trend discovered for October was an increase in research-phase search queries and intent. Publishers relying on search should be on the lookout for any traffic drops that may be correlated to an increase in AIO search results related to research-phase queries.
The BrightEdge data shows that in October discovery and research types of queries triggered the most AI Overviews.

BrightEdge’s research offers many insights on the kinds of content Google’s AI Overviews is prioritizing and how it’s ramping up for the holiday shopping season which begins with Black Friday. If traffic patterns are changing then it may be due to the updates to the kinds of queries are triggering AIO and an increase in advertising which, combined with larger sizes of AIO panels, could be pushing organic results lower.
It must be emphasized that organic results have not been the norm for well over ten years and at this point it’s anachronistic to still be thinking in terms of ten blue links. This is why the BrightEdge data is important because it’s showing what’s going on in the search results.

The Trunk co-stars Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin appeared in the YouTube talk show Just an Excuse and revealed many interesting facts.
The Trunk is an upcoming South Korean series starring the popular actor Gong Yoo alongside Seo Hyun Jin. Ahead of its release, the co-stars guest-starred for a YouTube talk show titled Just an Excuse and spoke immensely about the upcoming K-drama and their experiences related to it. 
On November 9, 2024, Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin appeared on the YouTube talk show Just an Excuse, hosted by Yoo Jae Suk. Both actors talked extensively about their upcoming K-drama, The Trunk, which the fans are extremely excited about. Moreover, Gong Yoo revealed that for his birthday, Seo Hyun Jin gifted him a ginseng liquor, indicating a close relationship they share.
During the show, Yoo Jae Suk playfully pointed out to Gong Yoo that he had about eight mobile games downloaded on his phone and asked why he played so many. Gong Yoo explained that he had originally downloaded an English-learning app, which required watching ads unless he paid for it. He mentioned that after frequently encountering game ads, he eventually succumbed to one. 

Gong Yoo further explained that he felt “gaslit” by the repetitive ads, which eventually wore him down. He started with one game, but as he grew tired of it, he would see ads for other games and download them. This cycle led to him having eight games on his phone, although he noted with a smile that he had since quit playing all of them.
Based on the novel Trunk, written by Kim Ryeo Ryeong, the story follows Noh In Ji, an employee for NM, a company specializing in providing spouses for fixed-term, one-year contract marriages. Having just completed her fourth contract, In Ji is matched with her next client, Han Jeong Won, a music producer whose life is marked by lingering pain and loneliness. Jeong Won is haunted by memories of his ex-wife, Seo Yeon, who was the one to originally enlist him with NM. 
However, their budding familiarity is interrupted when a mysterious trunk is discovered in a lake, unveiling hidden secrets within NM and pulling them into a suspenseful web of mystery that threatens to shake the very foundation of their relationship.
Directed by Kim Kyu Tae and written by Park Eun Young, the show will be making its premiere on November 29, 2024.

WEi's Kim Jun-seo, Actor Cha Sun-hyung, and more reported to star in the upcoming South Korean BL series, Secret Relationship – Sportskeeda

On Friday, November 8, the South Korean broadcasting industry revealed the reported cast members for the upcoming BL series, Secret Relationship. According to the reports by OSEN, WEi’s Kim Jun-seo, Cha Sun-hyung, Cha Jung-woo, and Kim Ho-young, are expected to be the cast of the upcoming show. Jun-seo is a rapper from his K-pop group, which debuted in 2020.
On the other hand, Cha Sun-hyun has appeared in other South Korean shows like Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale, Mental Coach Jega, etc. Kim Ho-young is also a well-known figure in the industry who previously starred in Branding in Seongsu. The series is based on the Kakao Entertainment webtoon with the same name, Secret Relationship.
The webtoon series is a popular IP of Kakao Entertainment, and it’s successful across six regions, including Korea, the US, and Japan. The series gathered a cumulative of 170 million views on Korean Kakao Webtoon. Therefore, following its fame and popularity amongst the netizens, many fans are thrilled about the upcoming adaptation of the same.
Secret Relationship is a South Korean piece that showcases the complex romance between two male coworkers, and it was created by the author, McQueen Studios. It mainly revolves around three characters, namely Da-on, Seong-hyeon, and Jae-min. Da-on is a smart and clever person who’s worked hard to overcome his poverty.
Regardless of his better social and financial situation, his old habits of being poor still stick closely with him. This gets on the nerves of his coworker, Sung-hyeon, and the two have an unfriendly relationship for the most part. However, one incident changes all. When Da-on interacts with his impoverished parents, he suddenly gravitates toward Seung-hyeon.
They both start to grow closer, while Da-on still balances his new feelings for Seung-hyeon with his love for his former tutor, Jae-min. The show, therefore, unfolds to showcase where Da-on’s mixed feelings will lead him, towards riches or back to poverty. The series is expected to be released sometime next year, in 2025.
Kim Jun-seo is reported to play the role of Da-on, and Cha Sun-hyung will take the role of Seung-hyeon, while Kim Ho-young is expected to play Jae-min. On the other hand, the writer of Secret Relationship, Jung Soo-yoon, has previously worked on other impressive BL stories like Boy’s Flight and Your Taste. For the upcoming series, he collaborated with Lee Yu-jin.
Lee Yu-jin has worked in other well-known BL series like When Your Temperature Reaches My Fingertips and Tractor Carries Love. On the other hand, the drama production team of Secret Relationship also released a statement regarding their intention and motifs with the filming. Here’s what they stated:
Additionally, they are also intended to depict a universal love story through the upcoming BL series, where a wide range of viewers can watch and enjoy the same.
They are also interested in keeping the ideal characteristics of the BL genre while they’re at it. Therefore, fans are thrilled to see what’s in store for them with this release.

Google’s Martin Splitt answered whether webpage text copied from a YouTube video could be negatively impacted in search
Google’s Martin Splitt answered a question in the SEO Office Hours podcast about whether reproducing YouTube video content into text on a web page would be seen as duplicate content and have a negative impact on the web page rankings.
Although duplicate content is not a negative ranking factor, content published on a more authoritative site can cause the content on the less authoritative site to be outranked. It’s a valid question to ask because content on an authoritative will outrank the same content on a less authoritative one.
Some in the search community refer to one piece of content usurping the rankings of another as ‘cannibalization’ of the webpage’s ranking potential. This is the concern of the person asking the question.
Google’s Martin Splitt narrated the submitted question:
“If I create a YouTube video and then take that exact text or content and place it on a web page, could Google flag that web page or site for duplicate content?”
Martin Splitt answered that the two forms of content are different and will not be treated as the same content, thus publishing text content extracted from a video will not be considered duplicate content.
This is his answer:
“No, one is a video and the other one is text content, and that would be unique content!”
Publishing Extracted Text From Video
Martin praised the idea of extracting text content from a video and republishing it as text, noting that some people prefer to consume content in text form rather than watching a video. Reversing the flow of content from text to audio or video is probably not a bad idea also because some people have trouble reading text content and may prefer listening to it from a video or a podcast format.
Martin commented on publishing video content in a textual version:
“It’s also not a bad idea, some users (like me) might prefer a text version and others might not be able to use a video version of the content in the first place due to bandwidth or visual constraints.”

The idea behind the question is repurposing content and it’s a good idea. Search is more than Google, it’s also YouTube and wherever people get their audio content, like Spotify.
